the dinner at eight bra (sizes 30D-38G)
The dinner at eight bra was designed to create an elegantly styled and feminine bra, with a few more “titillating” variations.
It still is keeping with the brand theme of aiming to provide support for those with large cup volumes and smaller frames. It is available in sizes 30D to 38G (UK sizing).
It is designed particularly for those with a moderate amount of horizontal cup spread, with good upper cup volume and lesser forward projection. (similarly to the Bette bra).
Following the central theme of Old Hollywood Glamour/Style, the original draft was inspired by Jean Harlow in the 1933 movie "Dinner at Eight”.
‘I’ve told you a million times not to talk to me while I’m doing my lashes!’ is one of the famous quotes from Kitty , and many more can be found online.

The dinner party, whilst still a high society affair, reveals some scandalous themes for the era. Hence the “peek-a-boo” cut out created for Variation Two: and the deeper upper cup neckline, with the exposed cradle, for Variation Three. All PDF pattern pieces are included for Variation One and Two. For Variation Three, instructions are given for creating the pleated cup pattern piece from the main cup pattern piece for Variation Two. (it is not its own separate pattern piece.)
The variation four is actually an adaptation of the power bar to have pin-tucks in the satin. The original version had a “space age” feel to it...and it seemed to reflect the 50's movie “Barbarella” for which it was named. Instructions for adding the pin tucks to the power bar to create the Barbarella bra, are in the Appendixes.
Further information (Line art, fitting information and measurements charts etc) are in the tiles on the left on the desktop or laptop (or tap on the right of your screen to scroll right on your mobile device/iPhone )
The instruction booklet is a large file , so the pattern collection may take a while to download before the file can be opened .
Pattern pieces are compatible with A4 and US letter .
